The Federal Way donor center permanently closed on December 9, 2025, and LifeStream will no longer host mobile blood drives in Washington.
While this chapter has come to an end, the need for blood never stops. Your commitment is still deeply needed, and we encourage you to continue donating at a blood center near you.

We want to thank the donors and community partners in South King and Pierce counties for their support. Your participation and commitment made a real difference for patients who relied on lifesaving blood products. We are grateful for the role you played in supporting the community through your donations and partnerships.
Running a regional blood center in today’s volatile marketplace requires us to balance community needs with available resources. Unfortunately, in Washington State, we were not able to make the financial and operational model work. After careful evaluation, we made the very difficult decision to close the Federal Way donor center and cease mobile operations in Washington, effective December 9, 2025.
We understand that this news may be disappointing especially given the dedication and effort our donors and community partners have poured into our mission. This decision is not a reflection of anyone’s commitment or hard work. We simply ran out of runway to responsibly sustain operations.
We recognize that this closure creates challenges, especially during the holiday season. We are deeply grateful for the support shown by donors and partners throughout South King and Pierce counties, and have contacted those with appointments so that they can make other arrangements.
To ensure continued local access to blood services, we encourage you to support one of the blood centers serving your area. You can find a list of locations through the Blood Centers of America directory.

Yes. Donors can continue to log in to the portal as usual. Link: LifeStream – Donor Portal
Yes. You may still redeem your points in the Donor Store for a limited time.
The last day to redeem points will be March 10, 2026.
Absolutely. Your contributions have saved countless lives, and we hope you take pride in the lifesaving difference you’ve made in your community.
Yes, all operations including the Federal Way donor center and mobile drives will fully cease as of December 9, 2025. However, your local community will continue to have access to blood products through other established blood centers in the region.
